Brown Wool Scarf by Lynne O'Connor
This scarf measures 3' x 5'. It took me years to finish knitting it. It's made of brown and dark grey wool yarn, with wool tassels. It is shown here on the floor with our late (R.I.P.) Leila kitty and over my shoulders. I wear it constantly in the winter as a wrap and as a lap cover. It is very warm. Once when I was working on it, a few acquaintances stopped by for a visit. They asked what I was doing as if they had never seen someone knit before. I replied, “I'm channeling my rage.” That brought confused responses, but it's true, sometimes I was so bored I could spit, and that's about all I could do, besides manage a few more rows on that endless scarf. I figured if I worked my restlessness and anger into the yarn, it would be sure to keep me warm. It does. You're not going to be able to get me to make you one of these. It just took way too long to finish. If you want mine, we can negotiate, but it's going to cost you hundreds of dollars just to think about owning this beauty. Come on, what would you pay for a hand-made pashmena?
